You probably already have a vision of where you want your business
to go. You need to factor in what the web can offer to help you
get there. I can help you make the right decision and, should
you wish, help you take things forward.
Small businesses and the internet
Small businesses in particular balk at the prospective
cost of developing a web presence. But there are many stories
of small web investments delivering excellent returns - a local
leafleting and advertising budget being very profitably reallocated
to gain sales from not just across the UK but also all over the
world via the web is not far fetched for the right business.
The opportunity is there to
present yourself on a professional level - to gain credibility
for you and your business - a credibility that can be reflected
in your pricing. The alternative cheap and cheerful site is only
likely to get you regarded in the same way by your potential
customers.
A bespoke site, or a template
site?
Many web designers
use templates to construct sites - they can actually look very
professional
too - often down to the photography that comes with the template.
Beware - many of these templates come from apparently reputable
sources that in fact use stolen images. As recipients of what
amount to stolen
goods
hundreds or even thousands of web site owners are now receiving
$1,000 an image bills from Getty Images! (See
here).
I only construct bespoke sites
to your brief using content that you provide or I create to your
specification. Your site will be unique, precisely tailored to
what your business requires.
Like handmade fitted furniture it may be
more expensive, but you know where you are and what you are getting.
(It won't be a bill from Getty.)
